Do I Need A Visa
Upon arrival, visitors to Guatemala will receive a tourist visa stamp in their passport, which permits a 90-day stay. For longer visits/trips, many travelers and expats still prefer to utilize the tourist visa option and either apply for an additional 90-day extension or do a visa "run" to one of the approved neighboring countries, such as Mexico. Guatemala offers other visa options, such as a pensioner visa, for those with a verifiable monthly income of at least $1000. To find out which visa you require, visit the Guatemalan Embassy website in your country. An important item to note is that your passport must not expire within six months of entry.
